for some really quick games, one v one, start 12" away from each other, play best out of 3,take it in turns to go first for the first two, then on the 3rd choose who goes first as normal.

requires a lot more skill than you'd expect,
remember, you don't have to charge in crazily,
just your character, and only one,
record wins and losses, and who against,

all powers and upgrades included?

Hell yeah! We've also found that this works nicely as a tie break, when victory points take too long to do - your best surviving model versus their best surviving model.

There's plenty of variants, such as -
- Close combat to start
- Ranged only
- HQ v Troops unit (rarely works against grey knight troops )
- No upgrades
- No ranged
- One attack (and no bonuses for anything)(awesome mode)
And probably more.

So yeah, I fought a space marine librarian in terminator armour with Brother-Captain Stern, and OHKOd him yesterday. Force. Weapons. Own.

I know, one re-roll per phase, took it on wounding him, he failed to save, I passed Ld for force, and killed. And that makes next week easier, we're having it so any dead HQs don't regenerate for the next battle. I still got my 6!

We should really try my guys against Iasar, since you overpowered him so much. S8, up to 10 attacks, WS 7, and force weapon.

Yeah, but still, he's far too overpowered. I'd say put on an extra 50 to his cost.

he's no stronger than aberdon

Aberdon doesn't have a maximum of 10 force weapon hits, without any chance of mishap from the weapon, and has a weakness, whereas Iasar is invulnerable, except for the low spawn chance, unless you use psychic.

pretty high spawn chance on turn two, higher turn 3, turn 4 its pretty damn likely, turn five, you only gotta get a 5 on two dice, if it goes on any longer, (which these character battles can) it can become a certainty, on turn 8

I guess so, but if we take Tirakev v Iasar, you have a 0.438333r chance of spawning me first turn, which is ridiculous and not even funny. Much like 11.

No, that's your chance of that spell turning me to a spawn. I could work out your chance of killing me turn 1 if you want. Post stats online, same format as my two.

also, i realised something, when we played our multi character battle we made a mess of things XD
