Looks good, however I would recommend in the first list, loosing the dread (They are a bitch to use as they will all to often go psycho) and getting a rhino for each squad.

Thousand sons need rhinos and without them they are fooked. Also, remember, the cost may not be so much of an issue soon, I've just finished the Steel Legion test sculpt. I think I can probably do some sons after them ^^

the rhinos, may not be needed, 1/2 chance of getting a 6 on slow and purposeful and they still get to fire a 24" ranged shot, that sounds fine to me

No, it keeps them alive and gives them vital movement, foot slogging troops is a bad idea, even my normal CSMs are in Rhinos!

It gives them extra move, armor and protection, also stuff to hide behind, they are a good idea and particularly for 1000 sons, who you need keeping alive, a damn good idea!

Aye. Metal boxes are good for infantry. Why, even I used metal boxes in one game I played.

Indeed, in game they are worth it, check ebay for cheap rhinos, I got 2 for £12 and just stripped the paint and covered any buggered bits (Only one tiny bit) with armor plating
