whats peoples opinion on them?

Bithces to fight. Damn near impossible to kill the monolith - can't get better than a 6 to pen on it. Seem interesting to play.

It took me 3 turns to take the monolith in combat with Killa Kans when I played comingdarkness the other week.

if going up against monoliths, take vindicators, if your buying necrons, buy red gauss rods. make em look a little different

And give them hats! All of them.

what sort of hats? incredably tall top hats would be my choice, esspeicaly for the necron lord

who needs a large selection of units?

A fun army full of selection to make your army unique, thats why you need units

No it doesn't!! Necrons need units!!( In 2011 however they get a new codex)

i would love orange and black necrons, they would look so epic, like, sprayed orange, and then panted black over it, leaving out all the gaps and things leaving them orange... if only i had the money to start a new army i would do it myself, otherwise, i'm open to help. with painting and such or pointing you in the direction of orange gauss

Orange and black necrons would own. However, as far as I know, they don't make translucent orange rods. Stained glass maybe?

My Necrons can not be destroyed by meer killa Kans .
But yer, the game was a mass melee between Necron warriors, a monolith and a few Flayed Ones agaisnt a shit load of Orks and I still won somehow
Speaking from the point of view of a Necron Player I find them to be more challanging then most people make them out to be. If you spend all your points on massive units then you fall to the 'Phase out rule', for example a 500p game where he takes the Nightbringer (Ignoring my advice as he did so). PLaying Necrons needs a balance of many diffrent tactics that verge from Ork elements to Tau ones.
