The Cleansing of Volscar
Okay, yes, I picked the planet because it sounded good. So sue me.
Anyway, it's a planet near Cadia, and I think it defected to chaos at the start of the 13th black crusade, which makes a great setting for a campaign, really. Most of the rebels were killed by the loyal Cadians, but the survivors still remain in Volscar, or at least, they are assumed to do so for this.
It's mainly going to be one for the manchester players, due to the organisation of getting it elsewhere, unless someone wants to help run it somewhere else. So it's going to be the following teams -
- Team 1; Imperial Guard, Chaos
- Team 2; Space Marines, Daemonhunters, Witchhunters
- Team 3; Necrons, Orks, Tau, Eldar, Dark Eldar
Each team needs to elect a general (It can't be me - I know what's going to happen), and each general needs to form a plan for how they're going to assume/retain control of the planet. Then I form a scenario from that. It'll work out, if we get enough people in. It'll mainly be a cityfight, focused around the planetary governor's city, unless your plans dictate otherwise.
Team 1 will be defending the governor, and also trying to keep as many important buildings standing. Team 2 will be trying to capture the city and kill the governor, and as many others as possible. Team 3 has to simply blow as much of the city, and occupants, up as possible. But how you go about this is up to you.
The city has an industrial zone, which makes tanks, quite a bit of residential area, a governors area, and a plasma power plant (which is probably going to make quite a pretty explosion in one of the battles...). There's also a barracks on the outskirts, with a spaceport.
I'm playing imperial guard for this one, if I can get enough money for a decent force. Otherwise, I'll be dark eldar until I can. I'm willing to lend out some of my stuff to balance it up, but I might be shuffling the teams about if it doesn't fit nicely.

Re: The Cleansing of Volscar
Very well, we playing it consistent HQ deaths? Or even consistent deaths for everything but troops?
I was thinking, we write an army list 3 times what we can normally make, so my dameonhunters would get a 4500 point list, but when something died, you took it off the list, and you could only use whatever you had at the time. Though that might get too complex.

Re: The Cleansing of Volscar
it probably would, especially when you consider the limitless hordes of demons there are...

Precisely. What about if we don't do anything complex like that, just put dead units back into reserve, but keep a tally of who died, and how many times. Except with a chosen HQ, which we have to keep alive.
I'll bring a notepad with me next time, we can work out something useful.
