Speaking from the point of view of a Necron Player I find them to be more challanging then most people make them out to be. If you spend all your points on massive units then you fall to the 'Phase out rule', for example a 500p game where he takes the Nightbringer (Ignoring my advice as he did so). PLaying Necrons needs a balance of many diffrent tactics that verge from Ork elements to Tau ones.

true, my tactic of an endless tide of warriors backed up by destroyers and a Lord does tend to work well.

I've seen the old codex, not sure if first or second. The only change was +vehicle upgrades, which are shit anyway.

I don't even want to know what theyed add in the DE codex, I still remember when 3 of spiritcurses raiders turn up and suddenly my hammerhead and devilfishes were nothing but cover for the 4 fire warriors that survived.

Hopefully necrons are next on the list to be re-codexed out of the 40k armies.
It's either them, tau or eldar, and I think of the three they are the most outdated. My personal opinion is that they are awesome, and with all the teleporting facilities of a monolith, they are far more manoeuvrable than most people give them credit for. They need more ap3 ranged weapons though.
