Great Unclean One's Painting Blog
Hey, my first go at a real painting blog.... other than the horrific attempts at knight titans and other such things.... I've had some really nice models lying around and I just got some new ones from a shop I discovered with the help of a friend. They include Malifaux Death Marshalls, An Eldar Death Jester and A Nightbringer I found in my bitz box, I'm going to use this as a blog for all my painting and will upload some previously painted stuff on here, it's mainly for painting motivation and for help with my painting, so criticism is definitely welcome!
So without further ado, here are the miniatures without ANY paint on just so you can see the very little conversion done (Mainly the bases and poses) and see the models before I in all likelihood turn them into husks of their former selves.
A Chaotic Sorceress that I picked up in Fanboy 3 (The newly found shop), I can't remember what miniature line she's from and I have no idea what I'm going to use her for yet, I still need to seal the sand and clean the mould lines off though, probably a colourful red and yellow colour scheme, because she doesn't look evil in the slight ^_^
A Nightbringer I found lying around in pieces in my bitz box, now fully pinned and with base, needs sealing and some green stuff for gaps at the arms and torso
Death Jester, an awesome model, it's going to get a black and white checked paint job, such an awesome model....
Two Death Marshalls I got in the pack with the one I really wanted, but they need painting up anyway, I might start Malifaux so they're all going to be the same colour scheme. Some converting on the base of the industrial pipe one, the metal bases are from Black Cat Bases btw.
This is the Death Marshall I really wanted, he's being used as a Gunslinger character for my GURP character, I altered which coffin he's supposed to be on and made the wonky pose, I'm making a back story for him on my friends forum GURP section so might link to it or post it when I've done it.
And finally, from the same company as the sorceress, a small ork with a blunderbuss, I'm using him in my Pirate Scavvie gang, they will probably be on this post at some point when I can get the money to buy them all ^_^
-These are my projects so far and I will be adding more as I go on, I thank you kindly ^_^
NOTE-This is taken from my dakka P&M Blog I just started so references to this site might be made, I'm copy+pasting to save time on writing it again, I will be keeping each one at the same time, I'll update both when I get some pictures taken

Re: Great Unclean One's Painting Blog
Just a small update here, I got the paints for my Death Marshalls so I'm trying out the colour scheme, I've only added a base coat of Calthan Brown for the trench coat and guns, here he is-
I'm also doing a very small modelling project that is near enough completed, making a hammer for my Iron Warrior Demon Prince (Who will probably appear here as will the Warriors) Here's two picture of the hammer head, it's quite big and I'm using a Black Ork standard/icon for a shaft.

Re: Great Unclean One's Painting Blog
Some new shiny models, some updates on the Gunslinger and Death Jester and some pictures of old models, including a birthday present that I just nicked to get some photo's
The Death Jester-
The checks are finished and I am currently putting diamonds on the cloth draped over his back and painting the skeletal detail, pictures will be coming in soon.
Lucifer-
My only metal terminator left... that isn't now an obliterator, I probably wont ever change his paint job in fear of destroying the signature by Graham McNeil on his shoulder plate, he came to a signing at my GW and I got my books and also this model signed by him ^_^
Rusty Alyce-
I had £6 left over after lunch today and decided to buy this model, she's an awesome model and as I'm thinking of starting to play Malifaux, she didn't seem like such a bad model to get. I can also use her in my GURP campaign as a boss fight or a leader of some bandits. I'm probably going to paint her as she's shown on her card, using red for the cloth and making the mechanical arm look rusty, hence the name which she came with.
Wood Elf Waywatcher Diorama for my Mum's Birthday-
This is a Wood Elf Waywatcher Diorama that I made for my mum's last birthday, it's basically a Dryad 'putting down' the Waywatcher on a mossy hill with vines on, I made the Dryad out of wire and then green stuffed the bark and carved a face into the main trunk, I just used a standard Wood Elf Waywatcher model though
Death Marshall-
I've finished the brown and black on the Death Marshall test model and the next step is the flesh and coffin, next update for him is when those two are finished.

Re: Great Unclean One's Painting Blog
Some more updates on the Death Marshall test figure, the Hellborn Sorceress and some pictures of my painted Huron Blackheart - a thumb. Also, I'm going to try and do more smaller updates rather than infrequent huge ones. That way you get a better picture of the WIP rather than huge stages missed out.
Death Marshall-
I have painted the flame coming out of the coffin, also; a slight lie with the next update, I had an urge to paint fire....
Hellborn Sorceress-
I've painting the base colour onto her coat and painted the detail on the tails of the coat, only the tails are going to have diamonds on as doing it on the whole jacket is too difficult and looks messy, trust me I tried.
Huron Blackheart-
I painted him a while back, the second Huron I've painted actually, long story... Some of the spikes are a bit bent and his thumb is missing but I'm still pleased with the Hamahydra conversion and the paintjob came out cleaner than the first Huron I painted, I think he's second in line to the model I've spent the most time on.
A side note on bases-
For most of the bases (Particularly my Guild and Outcast Malifaux models) I am using urban bases from Black Cat bases, for the others I'm converting and making them myself.

Oh wait... he's not good he just belongs to my faction, so he's on my side, there is no good and evil in this game just different views, much like 40k, he binds the dead and keeps them dead though ^_^ Pretty awesome job if you ask me!

No, he stops zombies from happening and fights the voodoo gravediggers for control over this city, along with some other factions like steam magicians and steam fitters.... Yes, there are also voodoo gravediggers in every sense of the word!

Re: Great Unclean One's Painting Blog
Some more stuff here, I have finally FINISHED a model ~
@Malfred - Thanks ^_^ I really love painting the Death Marhsall and the other Wyrd miniatures stuff, they are so much better and cooler than GW's but that's probably because I really like Steampunk!
Hamelin-
This is a Wyrd Miniatures model, I made a Victorian cobblestone base for him, my first proper attempt at a full green stuff base, also, the small metal thing in front of him is actually a rat, surprise he like rats... I think or hates them.... he certainly looks like one though and has one whispering in his ear....
Death Jester-
The Death Jester is nearly finished, I just need to add more detail, some washes and finish off his gun
Hellborn Sorceress-
I've used washed heavily in this model to provide shading and I just need to add metallics for gold and silver and then maybe add some fiery runes onto her skin in orange
Death Marshall Malyce-
Well, this guy's finished, I just need to paint his brothers and they shall all be named along the same lines as this one, called Malyce.
Anyone got any ideas for names that are along the same lines as Malyce? All suggestions welcome!

Re: Great Unclean One's Painting Blog
Finished two models today, well the models but the bases still need painting...
Hellborn Sorceress-
I have finally finished her, I gave the cloak a thin brown wash to give a bit of depth and I painted patterns in white on her skin and face and then washed the skin red again to make them look like a pink glow.
Death Jester-
I've only used three colours on him and I think it's worked quite well, I've painted all of the gemstones in dark red and have made nearly every bit of his clothing in a different pattern, I did the patterns and then gave a highlight to the black and gave the whole model a black wash to give it some depth.
On a side note, I am going to start taking commissions in for painting single models or small squads of about 5 or so. If you are interested please send me a PM so we can sort out a method that is best for you. The first five or so commissions will be at a lower price than normal as I will be using these predominately to build a portfolio of work and to gain some reputation and I will paint models from all model ranges and am based in England.
Thanks Much

Re: Great Unclean One's Painting Blog
I've talked about this elsewhere, but I need you to paint a model for me, my GURPS model. It'll be on a custom base too, can you paint that for me for free? Since I'm paying you for the model and all... It's nothing too big, standard base size, just... awesomer.
Re: Great Unclean One's Painting Blog
Yea sure, I'm painting each model for £2 for people who I consider friends regardless of base size or whatever ^_^
