750 point Nid army lists

This is for a doubles game tomorrow so I would like to see your views on it. My ally is a spud marine player and we are against two CSM players so here are two lists of what I think will be good.

The Warrior Broods are well outfitted. Good sense of variation. I do it with my nobz; 2 Power Klaws, 5 Big Choppaz, 2 Skorchaz and a painboy----->

Which list is better?

The top. It has more. It is more swarmlike like Tyranids.

Indeed, I'd go with the first, because it is more effective, the only thing I can suggest for the bottom list is to swap out the guard and fex for a Trygon with upgrades

I used the 1st list and it worked wonders. We won an objective game, my swarm of termagants destroyed Abbadon quite easily actually.

Really? Mind you he can really suck sometimes but gaunts? Was it lucky or just en masse?

I suppose it was an easy loss for the chaos, I mean the amount of points, tyranids can cream chaos in a small points game. What did Chaos have?

You'd be surprised although Nids are quite amazing vs chaos in smaller games

I had 16 termagants charging at Abbadon so that was 32 attacks, 18 hit, and my friend failed 4 of the 18 armour saves.
My friend had this in his army: Abbadon, Land Raider, rhino with CSM and a sorcerer. His teamate had a terminator squad, veteran marines, chapter master and a tac squad. It turned out to be a 1000 point game.

Personally, I wouldn't rely on special characters in a 1000 point game. Only exception would be Imperial Guard, or possibly Decapitator. They're simply too many points for one model, too much of a loss when they die.

As a side note, anyone want to convert a Decapitator for me? I'll be willing to pay for costs plus a little bit, if they're reasonable.

Special Characters are useless in small games, I told my friend to drop him and bring some troops but he wouldn't listen.

Trygons and Mawlocs are shit in terms of brute strength. 10 of my boyz ripped one to pieces in combat. It's only WS3 and has like 3 attacks. They are shit. Easy to kill, so if anyone goes against them don't worry. Also Carnifexes you should be scared of. More wounds, harder to kill and stronger.

A land raider took 2 wounds off it and gained them back next turn.

I love Tervigons, they can count as troops and have 6 wounds and can regenate. Great for sitting on objectives.
