Pokemon RPG.

just an idea, you recon we could make one?

i'm thinking.... start out with X money and then go see professer, get given pokemon (1 of many starters)
go off on adventure,

when out on an adventure, you roll a dice, on a roll of 1, nothing happens, 2,3, find an item, 4 trainer appears 5 flip a coin, if tails same as 4, if heads same as 6, 6 a wild pokemon appears.

(items)
1,2, in battle stats up items.
3,4, pokeballs and potions
4 advanced pokeballs and potions
5 rare candies and perma stat up items
6 master balls (once only), fossils, evolution stones.

pokemon
1,2,3, common pokemon, (zubat, bidoof)
4,5, uncommon pokemon ( growlith, Roselia)
6 rare pokemon (starter pokemon, dragons)

i'll make a detailed list of each pokemon soon enough. including its rarity, likely stats, catch rate, i could do with some help with this.

it'll be playable when i've sorted the first ed pokemon.
i'm not doing fifth gen.

Zubat - Golbat - Crobat. Good evolutionary chain, and nothing too mary sue or overdone.

One question here.
I may not take Mime JR as my starter pokemon because i AM NOT going to evolve it. I love Mime JR nd have it as my partner pokemon in my fluff but i hate Mr. Mime...I just dont like him (when compared to my lovve of all pokemon). Thus i want to ask about how stats could possibly work in this.
Could I have my Mime JR still be a good fighter without having to evolve it?

well, to begin with, i'm only doing first gen pokemon, and really adam? a zubat? those that there will be a million of in any cave?

Ok then, next Q. Are Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle going to be available in the wild?

I'd assume so, same way you can in the real games.

Also, we have a d10 and a d20 to use now, so that's some more possibilities.

Why not just run it the same way that we do D&D and such? that will work well if we can get a basic outline working.

That would also work well, and since most of us know how to set up an IRC client now, it'll save me the headache of explaining it. Although, Legion RPGs mean that we don't need to all be in the same place.

My reasons for Zubat are clear. It was a toss-up between Abra, Zubat and Ghastly, and Abra has no combat moves. Still not entirely sure.

If the usuall starter pokemon are going to be in the wild then I will start out with a Ghastly

starter pokemon will be available in the wild, but will be super rare. (i'll work out exactly how i'll do it later)

Fair enough, I will have to take the time to get my Charmander and Squirtle then. Still, then I get the feeling of joy when i catch the rare pokemon.

i'mma start out with an eevee if i can find a way to run it an be able to play it too... we need a partially weighted d150 XD

No can do on the weighting front, I'm afraid. Mention this in main area, as I'm guessing this to be a simple RPG?
