Homebrew game.
I wish we could make a game. Like Warhammer but with not as gay rules. You have armies and stuff. And rather than fictional, I would be cool to base it on Spartans, Roman, Trojans, etc.
So wadd'ya say?

As long as not historical basis, I'm fine with this. I wish to be free to create my own game world. Plus, avoids people saying "but these groups didn't exist at the same time", and other related dickery.
Find somewhere where we can get decent models for good prices, and I shall assist.

Re: Homebrew game.

Re: Homebrew game.
well, its up to nailz if he wants to start it.
HOWEVER
it would be best we get our home brew RPG finished first. Tackle one at a time or we'll never finish anything.

I agree. Put this on hold for a bit. Well, nothing stops you working on it, but I'll be busy for a while.
Re: Homebrew game.
Well, if you wanted to do fantasy, Mantic games is a pretty decent and very cheap company that has a range of undead, elves, dwarves and a fourth race coming with each thing coming with it's own carrying case.....

Re: Homebrew game.
Very nice, actually tempted to get some, split them with Nailz, and buy the Vampire Counts codex. Be a laugh, right?
Re: Homebrew game.
Written a few rules and the undead side up - bored, too tired to work on RPG. Want them?
Re: Homebrew game.

Re: Homebrew game.
well the idea came from the old warcraft rts heroes.
the pros this this approach is
pre existing idea = modify and go
the original heroes had 3 abilities and a 4th "major" ability = keeps things relatively simple
Each hero has a theme = easy enough to fluff up their minions.
the idea of this kind of game would be to have 5 heroes a side and a number of smaller minions each.
i might actually write this up myself if you're not going to use it.

Re: Homebrew game.
I've worked on it a bit. It's basically ridiculously good heroes, and minions for low points costs. For example, the Revenant King hits normal skeletons on a 2+, whereas they hit back only on a 6. I'm using the Mantic models to base on (JFGI), but any sort of undead or elf will work. If people like it, I'll write some lists up for humans, and dwarfs if they get more models out.
As for playing it, I'll distribute the rules via Adium/whatever less good variant you have. It uses tabbing, so I can't post here without painful levels of failure.

Re: Homebrew game.
I agree but first we need to test it. SC, only put it on when we have decided on the overall rules.

Re: Homebrew game.
Because I don't know where to host it easily, and I'm not sure I have a good .rtf -> .pdf converter on Little Pod.
Will do, want to split the 65 pound one between us? 32.50 each, we get a catapult, a necromancer, 20 skeletons and 20 revenants each, plus a Revenant King or Battle Standard Bearer. That's roughly 48 pounds worth of stuff each. Of course, we can get other stuff as well, for example, I want Mhorgoth the Faceless - one of the nicest models I've seen in a long time.
Tell you what, each of us pays 35 pounds, we get Mhorgoth as well, and I'll have him instead of a necromancer. You can have them.
